The Discord is open for business

For a few weeks, our Discord server has been quietly running — the invite has been on the wiki since mid-August, and a small handful of curious folks have wandered in. Today we're making it official.

What's inside

The server is built to be a hub, not a chat room. There's plenty of chat, but the bones of it are the automated feeds and opt-in interest channels:

  • 📰 Blog news feeds — every new post from the Daily Broadcast, NASA Overview, SpaceX Report, Blue Origin, Rocket Lab, Commercial Space, and Canada From Orbit lands in its own channel, so you can follow only what you care about
  • 🚀 Launch alerts — powered by LiveLaunch, covering liftoff, holds, deployments, and outcomes. Opt-in only via a role toggle, because launch pings are high-volume
  • 🐛 Mod, game, and tool feedback forums — bug reports flow straight through to the right GitHub repo without you needing a GitHub account
  • 🎨 Patreon feed — just added yesterday. My public Patreon posts auto-post to a Discord channel so you don't have to check two places
  • 📢 Wiki announcements — every post like this one gets echoed into the server the moment it lands
  • 💬 General community — where you actually hang out. Say hi in #👋-airlock after you finish onboarding

There's also an admin section that's locked off for me — operational alerts, workflow errors, cost tracking summaries. Not interesting unless you like reading dashboards, and even then, it's just me in there.

Who it's for

Anyone who cares about aerospace, plays with Space Engineers or MW5 mods, follows the launch calendar, or just wants to hang out with people who get excited when a Falcon 9 boostback burn lights up the Florida coast. The server is small on purpose right now — no giant onboarding walls, no drama, safe-for-work, community-moderated (which is a fancy way of saying it's just me and whoever ends up wanting to help).

You'll land in #👋-airlock. Follow the rules, complete the quick onboarding, pick which feeds you want notifications from, and you're in.
